I suspect our appointment with physio today will be rather like bathing the cat – I haven’t told him about it yet – it’s best explained as we walk in the door.
I suspect also that I’ll be the one being “physiod” and he will sit and watch.
Being he lies in bed so much, the home care RN wants him put thru range of motion exercises - at home. Not sure if this is once per day or more. All I do know is that bathing the cat may be easier, if I had a choice.
We have several appointments booked, once per week. Stay tuned:)
Update: As we left, the receptionist saw his printed exercise sheets. She’s very pleasant and said she saw that he had some “homework.” He agreed and said he doesn’t even have a dog to eat it! It always amazes me that he can come up with those zingers but can’t find our bedroom, etc.
Will be praying for you. You are one creative woman, you will come up with some neat ideas to get it accomplished. Hangth thou in there…hugs and prayers…Mary Lou
Tell him it’s a game and maybe he’ll play along. HUGS
I hope he does it without a peep!
I would think that as long as he is up and about, range of motion exercises are waste of time and effort. Integrating physical movement into something enjoyable (like a walk) is far better than passive, regimented exercise. My opinion
Good luck my friend and thank you for the nice blog replay today.
Reply not replay (lol). Oops
If anyone can, you’ll figure out the perfect way to present this new activity!
Good luck. Hope things work out.
Thanks everyone and Ruth, bless your heart. Your opinion is important to me – I wondered about it but always do as requested. Today was a struggle.
Maybe one of those GPS devices like Ozzy Osbourne uses in the commercial can help Wayne navigate the restroom and bring back old times flying at the same time.
Hang in there Jean!

Jean, you do not know me but I have been following your tremendously moving and courageous journey alongside W from a distance for some while..a journey on a path not of your chosing. You inspire and inform in your sharing.I fear that we(DH and I) may be limbering up in the foothills for another such climb into the unknown so thank you for your continued generous sharing with ‘strangers’.Bless you.
Not sure of etiquette here, but in spirit of sharing, I wonder if you have come across 2 other wonderful blogs I have found also so warmly inspiring and ‘hopeful’ somehow. First is http://movingforwardwithalzheimers.blogspot.com/ and second http://ourjourneythroughalzheimers.blogspot.com/ (relevant perhaps and so moving about later painful ‘next separate but together’ steps…
Sorry so long, sure that is not good manners, but wanred to link…
