We took Buddy to his luxurious digs today. It was very difficult last night – I slept little, Buddy slept little and Wayne slept as usual:)

So we decided, after listening to the local news, it would be “prudent” to have Buddy in a facility untouched by flames.

Wayne is very concerned where Buddy is – - -

Arrived home at 10pm to see the mountain (across the lake) swathed in orange.

Our neighbors were all standing on the road discussing strategy and the scariness of it all. As we chatted, our fireman neighbor’s radio went off twice. He had two calls in 5 minutes. The roads were jammed with cars so the hall canceled his trying to get out. I took a couple pics (which I still have to download).

At 11 pm, I phoned family, “we’re coming in for the night.”

It wasn’t an evacuation order, just info that we could be. I felt it would be terribly disruptive to wake up to pounding on the door telling us to go.

In my rush, I grabbed: Wayne, the cat, litter box, cat’s food, 2 pieces of crystal, my jewelry, the laptop and back up, all our meds, my cologne (!??), tax files of 08 and file for 09, my purse and our passports and birth certificates.

Being it wasn’t an evacuation alert, was less excitable but it’s kind of funny today to see what I thought important at the time. We are putting cat in his fancy cat digs today as it’s an imposition to take him along for a PJ party!
