Can you believe it? August conjures up memories of shopping for school clothes, supplies, past lazy days in the pool and much loved company.

Years have passed but I remember with pleasure, taking our sons for pizza at a “cool adult” restaurant after the first 1/2 day of school each September.

This month is incredibly busy for us. Company still here, medical/dental appointments, pedicure (toe nails for him) and general harvest busyness.

Looking after our neighbor’s place while they enjoy their new travel trailer. I am happily green with envy and encourage them to get out as often as they can. Wonderful memories of our truck/camper with our sons, then just the 2 of us til 2005.

Enjoy August, everyone. Ours will be busy but good. If I don’t post as often, no worries. We have 3 day trips planned which may turn into overnight stays. Our cousin, his wife and their families are at their condo for the summer. It’s only 1.5 hours away so we’ll spend time there. They used to back their motor home into our driveway and spend lazy summer days with us.

Cheers everyone and keep safe, whatever you do. Thank you for all the comments of support. the lake is between us and the ridge which is on fire. It’s still dangerous and out of control. The worry is hot embers and small bits of trees carry over the lake. Our neighbor (the FF guy) had a 12″ piece of hot debris on his deck. That was the night we decided to get out. Our deck is quite a mess of black, sooty pine needles, etc.

Oh, and we’re still cooking, temps wise. Wonder when it will end. The forest fires are out of control, lots of smoke. Sky looks like a cool, angry November day!
