Today I was scheduled for a scope – not a huge issue unless you are a caregiver who is reposing on the toilet for 3 hours at a time, thanks to premeds – two doses of meds gleefully scheduled just enough apart to keep me on the throne for 2 three hour sessions.
My sister arrived at 4 pm yesterday, took Wayne out for dinner as I’d have mugged anyone with a meal before them! (My last meal had been at 7pm Tuesday)
If I’d only had wheels on our camping portapotty, I could have roared around the house and carried on. Due to the success of the meds, I literally sat on the throne for over 3 hours, twice! Needless to say, I needed someone here to visit with and keep an eye on Wayne. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Sis slept here also (with one eye open) and thank goodness for I was still gracing the throne at 3:30am!
With the help of an incontinent pad and bath towels to sit on, I was transported in style to our hospital by another angel – who waited til procedure was over and drove me home.
BTW, the MD was super impressed with my lovely clean system. No wonder, Doc:) Just like new when I get thru:)
Anyway, thanks to all who helped including the care aide who took over from Sis at 1pm today. Angel that she is, I came home to find all my ironing done. I request nothing of the aides except to watch Wayne. She modestly said it was a joint effort so I assumed Sis ironed some. No, Sis washed and cleaned the floors. I’m in deep debt to angels – hopefully I will be able to repay their kindness.
Well, off to bed on a full tummy and loving it – - -
