So he did very well today – we had several stops to make before my haircut. As the stylist finished cutting, I mentioned I’d book for Tuesday for some streaks. “I can do it now, next client canceled!”

Looked over toward Wayne, he was reading a magazine, content.

So now my curls are “blonder” in a flash! It sure helps when people do stuff like that. Living where we do adds nearly an hour to appointments – one way! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

After all this, we deserved DQ ice cream. Oh, yeah. I had a hot fudge sundae, but only a medium.
Wayne had a medium chocolate dipped cone. We patted our tummies in satisfaction and carried on homeward.

So Wayne has been sneezing a bit today. When I said, “Bless you” he said I’ll tell you what the problem is – it’s the floor.
“The floor?”
“Yes, I’m getting my chain saw and going to remove the floor.”
Ok, Hon, and I’m hiding the work shop keys. He actually was talking gibberish about it by the time I turned the conversation around.
We had dark walnut installed a couple years ago – I offered to buy area rugs to “hide” the floor – “No, I’ll just cut it out.”

“I think I better go pee.” He starts for the kitchen.

“Nope, go that way.” I point to the hall. “This way?”

“Yes, watch the steps. Put the second switch on.”

“This one?” He gestures with his hand. I reply yes.

“Ok, now what?”

Time to get up and assist ~

So, not sure if all caregivers go thru sleep deprivation but I’m #1 in that dept.

Home care called last night to reschedule our time – only by 45 minutes earlier. “No problem!”

After very little sleep, I peeked at the clock, 8 a.m. – wonderful, I’ll shower and, and, and “What!!!” It’s now 10:30am and I flew out of bed. Opened the door and there she was – talking to scheduling, wondering if I had gone out, etc. At least she had a comfy chair to sit in among our flowers!

Guess it’s time to call Hotel Sister again – whenever I sleep at my sister’s, I just am so well rested – but she gets no sleep worrying about his getting out!

If this continues, I will pay for 12-8am care aide and I’ll go sleep downstairs. Doing my level best to keep Wayne home but I need sleep – I’m not blaming him – it’s the whole disease process.

BTW, Alzheimer’s, have I told you lately that I hate you? Yes? Well, still hate you.

He stumbled over reading the newspaper story, “Did you read this? They say forgetfulness affects middle aged people. Brother, that’s not something I’d like to have happen to me.”
