Wayne always hangs around with me, if I empty the DW, he sits at the table.etc.

Last night he was very alert and wanted to help – offered to dry some dishes, take the garbage out and recycling. (“Who are you?”)

I kind of sighed thinking this is how retirement should be, working together, each doing a chore and going on to other things. Not really whining but until this happens occasionally, one doesn’t realize the loss so much.

Your “normal” has been replace by a new “normal” so I can only imagine how shocking it is when things really are normal. I wish and pray for many more really normal times for you and Wayne.

I hope it happens more often, Jean. Here – that never happens unless I ask for help.

Normal is so nice, it must be like a cool breeze. Then boom….he wonders who you are.
Savor the moments…they must happen to keep you going.

It’s wonderful that you are able to recognize the good moments and don’t just dwell on the disease all the time. It must be so hard to do that.

The moments they are really there, with you in the moment are so precious…..but, fleeting.
