So, he is wearing two watches now. My Mom gave him a nice Seiko years ago and he cherishes it. Then, at work he got an engraved one for his 20th year of service. He really loves that one and comments on it all the time, also.
Anyway, lately he’s been wearing both watches. It’s kind of sweet being he can’t tell time now.
Darn, I hate it when my bubble bursts!
Pretty good day, I thought. He seemed so good, picked fruit out and ate a really good pasta dinner.
Doing a jigsaw puzzle tonight and would include him, making up questions like, “raining cats and —-”
He was pleased to say “dogs” and actually I felt good for him.
Then the bubble burst:) He cocked his head to one side and said, “Listen. I guess they’re still running those machines back and forth, eh?”
“What machines?”
He looked at me like I was totally hopeless and said, “Those things that they take people in.”
Of course, he was referring to airplanes.
(This may not seem like much but he is losing his grasp on words and it scares me as it’s a big step down. This has been happening for a day or two.)
This afternoon we visited our local produce shop. We love apples and pears – they are in large orchard bins. I gave Wayne a bag and told him to pick which ever apples he wanted. Chose Galas. I suggested he put 12 apples in a bag.
It was kind of cute, he would put 3 apples in the bag, bring it to me and say, “Is this enough?”
“Add a few more, Hon.”
We bought apples, bananas, peppers and 4 bags of pears.
Our peaceful time ended when we heard a bang, 2 vehicles had collided at the intersection outside the produce store:)
