I didn’t realize how much effort goes into Buddy in a day. We took him to the cat hotel in the afternoon.

Seems like everything I did tonight was easier. He used to just sit on Wayne’s lap or sit by him. Now he is hanging around me, begging to be held. I assume he’s confused. Some mornings, he sits at Wayne’s bedroom door and lets out the longest yowl. This from a cat that doesn’t even meow normally.

Also, Buddy sits on the arm of my chair instead of with Wayne. Guess he can sense a difference.

Sorry to ramble on but I really noticed a difference not having him here.

Wayne just asked where Buddy was – explained. “Oh, he’s in the slammer, eh?”

Jean–I find it wonderful and marvelous how much Wayne retains humor–I can almost imagine the twinkle in his eye. I bet you look for the twinkle.

And I sympathize–with you and with Buddy. We are having a kitchen redo right now. I have to trap our two cats upstairs, behind a gate. And the dog is glued to me or my husband, and quivers and shakes at all the banging. The nail gun nearly did her in yesterday. Hope she is calmer today. I should have taken her to the kennel–for her sanity.

Animals have huge sensory receptors – they can ‘sense’ things way before we do.

I love how his humor doesn’t get lost in the disease. It’s always there to keep you smiling. LOL @ “in the slammer” Hugs,SMB

BTW, Loved your comment on my “meltdown”. :-)

Chatty just voiced my thoughts, exactly. Even my Caraleigh becomes clingy at disruptions in the norm. If only we could discern what they’re thinking!
    Sending hugs,

I was referred here by my friend Tami from Words of Wisdom from a Smart Mouth Broad. I have read through several of your daily posts. My heart goes out to you. While I have never had to take care of the love of my life, I lost my mother after a 10 yr. battle with Alzheimer’s type dementia. She was barely 50 when diagnosed and 60 when she passed away. I just wanted you to know, you are in my prayers.

Animals can always sense change and when a person is ill. My cats always seem to know when we are going to go out of town and when one of us is ill, they don’t leave our side until we are better. Buddy knows something is different, Jean.

Loved Wayne’s take on where the cat was. LOL! I think a dog would probably stay around Wayne no matter what, but a cat – well, they’re different.

Oh my gosh, how funny! Did you hoot out loud?
Wayne has an amazing gift, despite his illness, to be so funny.
