On Dec. 23rd, he questioned why he was going back to the care facility, not a problem but a bit concerned.
We chatted away and got him settled happily.
December 24th, no problem, just accepted his bedtime ritual and all was well.
December 25th, the best day of the 3!!! Bedtime ritual, my Sis accompanied me to the home to give our son a break. She said, “See you tomorrow, Wayne, we’re having everyone for dinner.”
“You are?! I’m really happy and look forward to it!!!”
It was so nice to drive away knowing he was happy and content.
Everyone is tired! They are all in bed having a midday siesta.
I got Wayne settled and decided I’d sit up with my thoughts.
The turkey will be ready for 6pm. This year is much easier dinner than ever: Turkey, dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes, a mixed veg medley and corn for Wayne! Sis is bringing a favorite jellied salad and I have cranberry. Easy, easy!
Only one son was able to come for Christmas, the other will come in January, 2010.
They are both worth their weight in gold and more to Dad and I. I haven’t had to drive since December 23rd, I’m a passenger and happy to be.
We take Dad out (of the care home) everyday and today I stayed home while the drive was made. The care home is at least 80km (50 miles) from our house so it’s a huge, loving gesture to do this for me.
Merry Christmas, Sons, you have always made us feel loved and cared for and we’re proud to say you “belong” to us! xx oo from Dad and Mom!
