The year ended with very good news – the care home called saying a bed was available in a unit more suitable to Wayne’s disability.

We were elated, driving over early the next morn to move his belongings and get him settled.

Very fortunate that staff float between the two wards so most of them were fmailiar with Wayne.

On this ward, one doesnt need to lock the door or keep valuable under lock/key as the residents don’t go from room to room “shopping”.

He has a nice rocker/recliner and all the other stuff to make him feel at home.

Will update asap – very busy these past few days. Hoping you all had a great New Years.

That’s very good. I am sure the other people there are more on Wayne’s level. I suppose he will be leaving his new lady friend behind? LOL

This is a terrible thing to deal with, I know because we are about to place my MIL in a nursing home. She suffers from Alzheimer’s, too. She’s lived with us for the last year and it is a 24/7 job.
    God Bless you.
