We had a green Christmas but Mother Nature is making up for it now. My neighbors have been shoveling for me, although I got out in time to do it today.
Spent 3 hours at the care home with Wayne. Those nurses deserve medals and more. Today I arrived to collect his laundry and “his” nurse apologized saying she did it this morn! I was so surprised – I thought only I could do his laundry properly:) Anyway, they don’t send this ward’s laundry to the main, it’s done on the floor.
Made sure everything was labeled well, bought new white socks so easier to mark.
After his lunch, he lay on the bed watching me mark the clothing. I got him washed and brushed and tucked in for an afternoon nap.
BTW, it is 80.9 km or around 50 miles, round trip from home.
Hope everyone is well – laptop on the fritz so haven’t been able to read blogs – I luckily have a desktop here but am spoiled and don’t like the old computer.
Please get the laptop working again, Jean, we miss you!
I hope they will keep track of his clothing.
Yes, I enjoy my laptop so much and hate to have to use the desktop. Hope yours is working soon.
What a God send to have such a wonderful home, with caring workers to care for Wayne, and to do laundry too.
Thinking of you with all the cold and snow.
Love,
Dolores
It truly is a miracle to have good care providers and the comforts of home. You must be exhausted going back and forth, but perhaps rest a little better knowing he’s in good hands when you’re away. Just thinking about you a lot lately and wanted to send you a hug. Love, Annette
Jean–this new placement for Wayne sounds like a really good thing.
The round trip sounds daunting. Does the snow ever make it impossible?
Okay – this place sounds wonderful – I remember the laundry – having to do it after the visit plus everything else. The drive does seem long though.
Make sure you take sometime for yourself.

I hear you Jean. My laptop has had problems too. And now my router, so am using the big one. Cannot use it too much for many reasons.
Glad things are looking up for Wayne. I must say it’s a long round trip!
Hugs
Wayne’s a lucky man in so many ways.
HUGS
Sounds as if things are going well there, except for the laptop!!
