Even last year, Wayne could rip off duct tape and help me with boxes.
Christmas trees are always a dreaded chore and I walk around the fallen tree, wonder how I’ll get it in the box and go on to something else – as if that helps.
Anyway, today I boxed up one tree and by holding the box between the dresser and my legs, managed to duct tape it to death. Then I heard the dreaded “pop” and the tape was lifting.
Sat there a moment and then I remembered his tie downs from the work shop! Voila! Duct tape and tie downs work perfectly – - – only 2 more trees to wrestle.
You’re doing good, but I know these are the time we miss our sweet sweet guys so much.
We had a pipe freeze Saturday night and David was in bed watching TV as I was madly trying to turn off the water….sure made me melancholy for times past, when he would take care of any problems……
Hugs and love to you,
Dolores
it is amazing what we can do when we have to….keep on keeping on!
You’re so innovative, especially when it comes to going with the ebb and tide of Wayne’s disease. You’re a jewel.

Guess we should never take things for granted. Sandie
You do have me giggling at the mental picture. Jean, box, tape, popping trees…
Aren’t you clever!! I think one of the things I have the most trouble with are those things that Elbert either helped with or did. And, now… I tackle what I can and leave what I can’t.
YOu put up all those tress this year??? YOu make me feel ashamed that I didn’t even do one!! (not at home, anyway)
Tie downs! Great idea! I hear ya on the whole getting the tree back in the box thing. I was straddling the box this year and sitting on it so I could get packing tape over it enough to hold it… lol – had to laugh though at having to do it that way.
I’m not sure I would have thought of that. I think MHS has more tie downs straps than any man should but I still wouldn’t have thought of it. Good for you!
