So, yesterday was a winner. We had sunshine, new summer slacks and DQ!

I arrived at his room to find him on the bed, eyes staring at the ceiling. If he were at home, I’d have a bag of tricks to make his day sunny – like offering pizza!

I think there is an AD angel, well, I know there is! I thought of DQ.
“How about a soft ice cream cone at DQ?” His eyes lit up and he jumped off the bed. It was so funny as I wasn’t sure there was a DQ in the little city where he lives. After two querries, we roared up to DQ, ordered and enjoyed.

It’s interesting, we used to go to DQ for supper about once a month after our long work day. I was thinking last night about how lucky it was that we did, as this seemed to twig a good memory.

Wayne had a bit of trouble removing the paper from the cone, I helped and was amused to see he ate the cone til it was about a half inch high.

“Aren’t you going to eat the rest?”

He eyed it and very firmly said no. I wondered about his reasoning.

Bought him new soft cotton cargo pants for summer. They have elasticized waist but tailored with a fly and belt hoops. He looked very spiffy!:)

Well, one day the AD didn’t take him all and ruin the day.
He remembered the DQ and you had a good time together.

When you think about it – all any of us have is the day we are in. (Don’t get me wrong AD is horrible.) But for one day you can rejoice. You know what I mean?

Do you have a lap top? Just wondering.
    Thinking and praying for you!

Oh, what a blessed, happy, sunshiny day!! A great one all around! So happy that you can enjoy these small gifts still.

Yea for blessings like DQ! They always say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. When David is staring off into space, and I ask how he’d like a Blizzard at DQ, he’s always ready to go.

    The cargo pants sound great!
    Thoughts and love to you!

Don’t you hope you always remember DQ? It’s obvious Wayne still knows his priorities:)

I’m glad he responded so well to the DQ and hooray for new pants (especially elastic waists!)

I just had myself a DQ cone in honor of you both. I read your last two posts at the ranch this weekend, and am finally home and can comment. Internet is worthless out there. Hope you are able to rest. Bless you. Love, Annette

I love DQ. Glad it was a good day. They are wonderful. I bet he did not want to get his new pants dirty is why he did not finish his cone.

DQ is our favourite ice cream parlour. My earliest memories there were getting 5 cent baby cones as a special treat. Glad you had a good day.

I remember you did a post on the DQ a while ago (or did I?). Anyway – good memories. My hubby and I used to share a hot fudge sundae, in the days when he could still leave the house.

Sounds like you had an awesome day! Similar to the one I had last week too. I took one of my grandsons out for his birthday and we ended up at the DQ. I did not even think it was open yet. They used to close all winter and only open around Easter.

So, we also had sunshine, DQ and well, not cargo pants, but a helicopter at ToysRUs!

Glad you had the idea of taking Wayne to the DQ. And were both able to enjoy the day.
    Hugs
