So today I started packing books – we have many.
It’s very touching, this process. Also, I sorted DVD’s – our sons are coming to visit and may want some of them.
It’s interesting to see his varied range of interest in reading. Once I have sorted, I will keep the hardcovers for his office – for now.
Jean, I can imagine it is poignant for you. It would be for me.
Hard for you I know. So how are you really doing? I’m sorry you have to be going thru his things now. Love you.

Going through the personal belongings of a loved one is a bittersweet cathartic experience.
Oh, the memories–you experience ups and downs, tears and laughter.
Bless you as you do this.
Oh Jean, I can only echo the others comments……poignant/melancholy etc etc….
Thinking of you with love!
You are letting go in pieces and stages but it does not make it any easier. Maybe you can think of somewhere to donate the books and know they are still appreciated?
I agree with Monica, whatever the boys don’t want, by all means find a happy home for them all. That could apply to anything that you’ll be sorting in the upcoming days.
I know, that you’ve thought of this already. Maybe the sorting, will bring up memories, that in a way, will be warm fuzzies, and healing somewhat. Not sure….it’s tough for you to experience, regardless though. This whole journey has been tough on you. Hang in, and hang on.
You’re made of tough stuff!
I think of you!
