(Anyway, sorry, too difficult to even post lately – I am so sorry for my man.)

Today at lunch, Mighty Mouse asked if someone could tie her shoelaces. The care aides were busy serving the meals so I got down and tied her shoe – only one was undone. She smiled ever so sweetly, thanking me.

The Sgt. Major called out that she’s only doing it for attention. Tsk, tsk, such an attitude, I thought – then my eyes caught MM using one foot to work on the laces of the other to untie them! Guess the Major had her pegged:)

And it’s perfectly normal to do things for attention, when one is a bit lonely or scared. She needs the attention, whether it’s tying shoelaces or holding her hand for a few minutes.

Maybe Sgt. Major wants attention, too.

After a while, visiting a care facility, the residents become like family, don’t they? Some of Mom’s co-residents always looked for me, and chattered about their day to me. A couple sat with us for afternoon tea; neither of them had much to say, but they were happy to share the moment with us.

When I was no longer visiting, I often wondered about them. If it hadn’t been a 2-hour drive, I would have gone to say hello.

It’s good to hear that Wayne is so happy to see you! I’d love to see a video of him clapping his hands on your arrival.

It was still nice of you tie her shoe. I hope tomorrow is a better day for you both.
