“Aw, what’s the matter, don’t cry.” Wayne came upon a resident who just walks around weeping all day long. Her room is next to Wayne’s.
As I entered the ward, I saw him leading her by the hand, holding it as if made of delicate porcelain.
Caught the eye of a nurse and told her to somehow separate them before Wayne saw me or he’d drop her hand like a hot potato – she was sad enough already.
The nurse had overheard Wayne telling her to not cry. He is more precious than gold, silver or all the jewels in the world.
So precious indeed Jean..
That retained ‘gifting outward’ capacity you have recorded with love describing Wayne’s interactions speaks volumes of his character,…innate empathic qualities… strongly preserved despite this wretched illness that sadly leaves him feeling often personaly aware of a huge painful loss.
(I’m sure from your writing that is true)
Hugs to you both,
Chris
You are both so in tuned to the feelings of others. A match truly made in heaven. HUGS
The compassion is so deeply ingrained in his personality, that even this dreaded disease cannot compete with the goodness within!
I totally agree and couldn’t say it better then Corgidogmama – nothing can rob his goodness. sandie
He is a real treasure and so are YOU!
Hugs,
SMB
I agree with midlife slices….both precious jewels:)
I’m reminded of that line from a favorite song, “I believe there are angels among us ….”
Jean, this is the sweetest and most uplifting post! You and Wayne are treasures!!
so much agree… Corgidogmama said it beautifully….
Oh so very much more precious!
