The night before last, I slept 13 hours – from 7:30pm til 8:30am.

Last night I slept from 1:30am til about 9am.

Am I depressed, overtired, unable to face the reality?

It’s worrisome in one way and then I remember always needing lots of sleep. Maybe a recent 65th kicked in and this is how I am officially greeting the milestone.

Any thoughts?

If you do that every day, for a good while, see your doctor. You may be depressed, or you may just be exhausted.

(A few good night’s sleep will fix that.)

I have the opposite problem: I worry if I’m showing symptoms of depression because I rarely can manage to get more than 5 hours of sleep a night, and quite often get none.

Then again, sometimes life hits us so hard that if we’re not depressed, at least temporarily, there must be something wrong with us!

Dun worry much. You are just fine. Once in awhile our body need to recover from a stupor. And, let it have its moment of good rest. God Bless.

I agree with Susannah…… this is probably a temporary thing of you needing sleep. Goodness knows that we get so little when we have our loved ones at home …… and maybe you’re making up for many hours of lost sleep.

I can be dead tired, and lay my head on the pillow, and my thoughts start spinning in my head, and I can’t sleep.

What we’re going through is not an easy journey…… we love our husbands/loved ones …and we watch them ….. and we cry.

You’re an inspiration to me Jean……
    Hugs, prayers and love,

I agree too. I think it is normal – give yourself some time to sleep – if it keeps up – then see a doctor.

    Just be good to yourself.

we need to give ourselves permission to sleep sometimes besides the “normal” times. i often wonder why we feel guiltly for taking a little extra time for ourselves. i think you are entitled and agree if everyone else that if it continues you might have a little bit of depression and a doctors visit would be in order. i’ve been using the “i’m older” card more often lately and found that it works!!

Have to agree with the gals.
However, I do believe, that our bodies know when we really need to catch up on sleep. You’ve been doing so much for so long…maybe it’s just a breather.
You’re never really “off duty” even if W is somewhere else.
Your brain is still in “care” mode.
    Nighty-nite!

I wish I could sleep but my brain won’t shut off from all the worries bouncing around in there. Be thankful and I think you’ll know if you need to speak with a Dr. about it or not, AFTER you’ve caught up on your rest. HUGS
