The staff has a dickens of a time brushing Wayne’s teeth. Fortunately he allows me.
For quite awhile I’d just manoeuvre him so his head would be supported against a wall if he moved.
Now I have him on the bed, head raised fairly high and use only a wet brush initially to get as much plaque off as possible. Usually he is very compliant – responds well to my being a goof ball and joking and laughing to get it done. If all is well, I now brush with Prevident toothpaste. Pricey but well worth it.
Now the tricky part – I put Prevident on my finger and slip my finger into the cheek fold to avoid being bitten – gently massage the paset along his gum line. Do not attempt to apply it inside gum line as surely would be bitten.
A nice sip of water and the deed is done.
