The city provided sofas for wandering pedestrians. I sat down on a golden brown sofa which had a coyote sleeping on it. He didn’t want to share I guess and bit me several times. The last bite was severe and he clung to me as I stood – attempting to shake him off.
Grabbed my cell and dialled 911, “Please come and please hurry as Coyote is dangling from my side.”
The dispatcher was sympathetic but rather evasive and told me no officers were available for about half an hour.
“Have an hour!I am in pain and he is getting angrier by the minute.”
Just then a vehicle pulled up with 2officers inside, they jumped out with urgency and I yelled
“I’m over here, please hurry, please shoot this coyote.”
“Sorry Ma’am, in a bit and raced into the local Tim Hortons. A robbery, you bet of the best donuts.
No offence but RCMP have a standing joke about them how they eat donuts on duty. I love the RCMP and know 3 officers personally and do admire them – unless there is a coyote dangling from my side:)
*** the whole reason that I posted this fable is it was my dream ther night and I woke up thinking of Wayne.
One day we had just parked at our local TH when an RCMP vehicle pulled up. They got out of the car and marched in.
Wayne was several years into his disease but turned and smiled a very knowing smile at me. I will never forget the moment.
